PAPERLESS ORDER GRANTING IN PART24 Defendant Rocket Pest Control FL LLC's ("Rocket Pest Control") Motion for Extension of Time. Rocket Pest Control seeks an extension of time to respond to the Complaint from September 4, 2024 to October 4, 2024. In support, Rocket Pest Control cites the fact that counsel was "very recently retained," but with no indication of when, and that counsel has not had sufficient time to obtain and review their client's file with respect to Plaintiff's claims. Motions for extensions of time must set forth good cause supported by specific facts. Here, Defendant does not sufficiently explain the need for a month's long extension. Because it is unopposed, I will grant a shorter extension, but future motions that lack factual support will be denied. Defendant shall respond to the Complaint on or by September 20, 2024. PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part8 Defendant Equifax Information Services, LLC's Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time. Defendant Equifax seeks a nearly month-long extension to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint, from August 6, 2024, to September 5, 2024. In support, Defendant offers little in the way of factual support: rather, Equifax just represents that it needs more time "to further review the allegations... and for the parties to engage in settlement negotiations." (DE8 para. 4). Such vague representations fall short of the good cause standard. In the interest of encouraging the early resolution of this case, and because the requested relief is unopposed, I will grant a short extension. The Parties can, of course, continue to engage in settlement discussions while this case moves forward in litigation. Therefore, the motion is granted in part, and I will extend the deadline for Defendant to respond to the Complaint to August 15, 2024. I note that this extension only applies to the moving Defendant.
