PAPERLESS ORDER denying 8 the Plaintiff's Motion for Extension of Time (the "Motion"). The Plaintiff informs us that, although he "promptly mailed the summonses to each defendant on July 19, 2024, [his] counsel exceeded the seven-day time limit from date of the perfection of service to file the proof of services with this Honorable Court as ordered." Mot. ¶ 2 (citing4 Multiple Defendants Order). The Plaintiff, however, has not told us whether he has conferred with the Defendants about the relief he's seeking, as is required by our Local Rules. See S.D. Fla. L.R. 7.1(a)(3) ("Prior to filing any motion in a civil case . . . counsel for the movant shall confer (orally or in writing), or make reasonable effort to confer (orally or in writing), with all parties or non-parties who may be affected by the relief sought in the motion in a good faith effort to resolve by agreement the issues to be raised in the motion."). Accordingly,8 the Plaintiff's Motion is DENIED without prejudice to the Plaintiff to refile an amended motion for extension of time nunc pro tunc after (and only after) his counsel has actually conferred with counsel for "all parties or non-parties who may be affected by the relief sought in the motion." S.D. Fla. L.R. 7.1(a)(3); see also Am. Residential Equities, LLC v. GMAC Mortg., LLC. , 2012 WL 12844707, at *4 (S.D. Fla. Apr. 10, 2012) (Goodman, Mag. J.) (a district court may order "independent, but analogous, pre-filing conferral requirements"). The Plaintiff shall file the amended motion by August 13, 2024 . Signed by Judge Roy K.
