ORDER: Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(d) bars parties from seeking discovery from any source before the parties have conferred as required by Rule 26(f), except... when authorized by these rules, by stipulation, or by court order. Courts generally require a moving party to demonstrate good cause exists to deviate from the standard pretrial schedule. Wilmington Tr. Co. v. Boeing Co., 2020 WL 4125106, at *2 (W.D. Wash. July 20, 2020). Good cause may be found where the need for expedited discovery, in consideration of the administration of justice, outweighs the prejudice to the responding party. Id. Here, the Court finds that good cause exists, and the need for discovery and the administration of justice outweighs the potential prejudice to the defendant. In particular, the lack of alternative means to obtain the subpoenaed information, and the need for such information to advance the Plaintiffs claims, weighs in favor of finding good cause, because here the Defendant has failed to appear, and the Court has granted Entry of Default 11 . The Defendants failure to appear should not be allowed to prejudice Plaintiffs ability to establish their damages as to their claims. Therefore, Plaintiffs Motion to Conduct Discovery12 is GRANTED.
