The defendants were present in court, under custody, and assisted by a certified court interpreter. Each defendant was provided with copy of the complaint and was advised as to the charges, his rights, and the applicable minimum and maximum statutory penalties that he is exposed to if convicted of the charges. AUSA Suarez informed it is a presumption case and moved for a 3-day temporary detention as to the three defendants. Atty. Zayas moved for release of defendant Quinones-Ortiz (1). Atty. Diaz agreed to a 3-day continuance to benefit from a PTS report as to Hernandez-Aponte (2) and Alifonso-Rodriguez (3) and to allow counsel for defendant Alifonso-Rodriguez (3) to appear. The Court granted the government's request. Detention Hearing is set for 11/20/2024 at 1:30 PM in Hato Rey Courtroom 5 before US Magistrate Judge Hector L. Ramos-Vega. Preliminary Examination is set for 11/26/2024 at 10:30 AM in Hato Rey Courtroom 6 before US Magistrate Judge Hector L. Ramos-Vega. The defendants shall remain temporarily detained pending hearing. Brady warning read: Pursuant to the Due Process Protections Act, Pub. L.
