CLOSED TRANSFER to the Eastern District of California - Plaintiff filed this action in the Southern District of Indiana on January 14, 2025. Dkt.1 . The complaint is based on alleged events that took place in California, appearing to stem from an alleged incident that occurred in Stevinson, which is in the Eastern District of California. ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE - Plaintiff filed this action in the Southern District of Indiana on January 14, 2025. Dkt.1 . Venue for a civil action is proper in a judicial district "in which any defendant resides, if all defendants are residents of the State in which the district is located" or "in which a substantial part of the events or omissions giving rise to the claim occurred, or a substantial part of property that is the subject of the action is situated." 28 U.S.C. § 1391(b). Here, the complaint is based on alleged events that took place in California, appearing to stem from an alleged incident that occurred in Stevinson, California. Dkt.1 at 5. Stevinson is in Merced County, California, which is in the Eastern District of California. 28 U.S.C. § 84. Plaintiff therefore SHALL SHOW CAUSE by February 14, 2025, why this case should not be transferred to the Eastern District of California. Copy to Plaintiff via US mail.
